I have always loved jewellery in all its shapes, forms, materials & styles. I think what made the biggest impression on me at the age of 15 was an exhibition of jewellery from throughout the ages in The Victoria and Albert Museum. Looking at ancient Egyptian, Greek & Roman jewellery as well as Art Nouveau & Art Deco I thought this is what I want to do. I want to learn how to make jewellery. I moved to Sydney when I was 18 and studied jewellery design and fabrication for 2 years at Randwick Technical Institute. After Sydney I worked for several years for manufacturing jewellers’ in Auckland. I have been working from my home workshop in Karekare for the last 20 years.
